From time-to-time, 藏精阁 may take photographs and/or videos of activities and events that can include individuals on or around the campus. 藏精阁 may use these photos, videos, and/or images both internally and externally in various University promotional materials, publications, advertising, and/or marketing. 藏精阁 complies with applicable laws and regulations applicable to use of photographs, videos, and images consistent with the information set forth in this policy.
This policy applies to images, photos, and/or videos obtained by 藏精阁 of students, employees, and visitors.
Consistent with the Family and Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), photographs, videos, and images of students are considered directory information. Thus, as a general matter, the University is not required to obtain a consent for these situations. That said, when taking photos or videos in a classroom or similar small environment, students and instructors may decline to be included and the University will respect their privacy and honor such requests to the extent practicable. Additionally, students may opt out of having their image used by the University by contacting Public Relations at publicrelations@lindenwood.edu.
Broadly speaking, images of individuals and/or groups photographed or recorded in video in an open space or venue on campus while attending an activity and/or event may be taken by the University and do not require specific permission in advance. Individuals present on 藏精阁’s campus give their consent to be included in photographs, videos, and/or images taken by the University and agree and acknowledge that such pictures, video, and/or other image(s) are the property of the University, which has full right and permission to use the same and which may appear in promotional materials, advertising, marketing, publications or the like.
The University reserves the right to request and require non-University affiliated individuals and/or entities to refrain from taking photos and/or videos on campus.
This policy is intended to cover the most common situations in which questions about the use of images, photographs, and/ or videos arise. Please direct any specific inquiries to the University’s Assistant Vice President, Communications and University Spokesperson at publicrelations@lindenwood.edu.
